What happened to the days of being an individual that happens to be in a relationship?

I was talking to a friend the other day and he was so happy to tell me about what he and his other half were doing. That's fine and dandy my only problem was when I would ask how things were going with HIM, he would answer by saying WE or OUR (talking about him and his other half). Now don't get me wrong, I'm happy that he has someone special in his life but that s#&* can become annoying. I was so annoyed that I had to blog about it.

Question:
What happened to the days of being an individual that happens to be in a relationship?


Note to reader: There is no hateration on my end, I'm in a great relationship. I just think that we shouldn't get so wrapped up in a relationship that we stop being an individual.

Right now I'm at a loss for words. How did this happen? Someone that is recognized as the young face of beauty was reduced to this at the hands (and teeth of her BOYfriend).

OMG

So I went to the dentist 2 weeks ago and she said I'd be a good candidate for braces, I was like HUH?! She said my teeth are in great shape and are healthy but I have a deep bite (that's when your top teeth cover your bottom teeth when your mouth is closed. A deep bite is not to be confused with an over bite). So with her recommendation I went to see an orthodontist needless to say, I'll be getting braces to correct the problem. I'm going to feel so weird because I'll be 28 on Saturday and this coming Monday I'll be a 28 year old man WITH braces lol............no smiling for a whole year!!! Ok it's not that serious, no smiling for a day or 2. Have a great weekend and Happy Valentine's Day.

Wash your motherf*#$ing hands

OK so I just had a Seinfeld moment. I was in the admin office heating up my lunch and one of the nurses that I work with was in the restroom..............no big deal right?! Well think again, she came out of the restroom and rinsed off (NOT WASHED) her hands. I said hi and tried to slide out of her way quickly but she patted me on the shoulder..........she got me y'all and now I have box juice on my sweater I just know it!!!

You would think since she's a nurse she would wash her hands after using the restroom but I guess not! I'm really freaked out because anyone that knows me knows that I'm a germophobe.

What would you have done if it happened to you?

There comes a time

I've been a witness to a certain behavior by a few parents around me and I'm always left with the question, "do you really love your child/children?". I'm a firm believer in the saying "having a child DOESN'T make you a parent". I've been witness to people screaming at their kids, "spanking" them, and just saying mean things. The parent must take notice that when a child acts out it's usually to have some sort of attention from their parent(s) because usually they go ignored until they've fuck up. So this year I've made it my mission to become an advocate for these children because they are people too and deserve better.

Have you even witnessed child abuse (verbal or physical)?
